I'm getting high on quitting
and I'm quitting everyday
I'm eating where I'm shitting
it's more memorable that way
I'm working on forgetting
it's no longer time to stay
since I saw you
slum in paradise
You're getting off on giving
and you sure do give a lot
You're getting on with living
past the previous last shot
You're so good at forgiving
when the heat is getting hot
we hide as we
slum in paradise
They're looking for our kind
They got our photo in the drawer
They're not sure what they'll find
but they want to find us more
They know us, they're not blind
but walk right past our door
leading to the
slum in paradise
We're getting up our hopes
but there are worse ways to be
We're climbing up the ropes
that lead to someone's Calvary
We're stuffed with envelopes
of the wage we got for free
escaping this
slum in paradise
